Female Sex Tourist

 

 

By some estimates 600,000 Western women have at one point participated in sex tourism over the last 25 years, many of them have been repeat customers, returning annually.

 

Unlike their male counterparts, the favourite destination for female sex tourists is the Caribbean. Places such as Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Barbados and Dominican Republic are popular among the ladies. The female sex tourist also wants something quite different than their male counterpart.

 

The root of it isn’t just carnal. The women want a companion, too, someone to show them around, romance them, make them feel special and needed, something they don’t feel at home.

 

Seeing it in operation, it’s quite a phenomenon – there’s a whole system,” said Kamala Kempadoo, a global sex-trade expert who teaches at York’s University in Toronto. “It’s not just women on the beach, it’ the nightlife. You go to a party and see couple after couple of older, quite substantial – I mean overweight white women with very young, very lithe black men,” Kempadoo said.
